Join the movement

We are just 3 weeks away from International Women’s Day, and I know I’m jumping the gun a little, but I really wanted to share this special day with you in advance so you have the opportunity to join the movement.

“What if, instead of asking women to work harder on this day, we took time for ourselves?” SHEEO is inviting all of us to join the movement and give yourself the chance to realign this International Women’s Day, March 8th 2022.

What if this year you actually give yourself a day (or some time during the day) to rest, to relax, to realign? What could that do for your mental health? What could that do for your physical health?

I often talk about self care, and like others I share the analogy of the oxygen mask… you have to help yourself before you can help others. The past 2 years have not really afforded this opportunity to women and mothers, everything (school, work, sport, social) has been happening within the home, and self care has literally gone on the back burner!

Gallup estimates that the burn out gender gap has more than doubled since 2019 as a result of the pandemic.

You and I both know it’s primarily women (myself included) who have carried the burden of homeschooling, of interruptions to life, of trying to balance everything.

We have got to a point where we are tired of carrying the motherload; we are fed up with carrying the pandemic load; we are over new variants, new rules and new restrictions; and depending on where you are in the world, some of us still can’t see light at the end of this tunnel!

If you’ve been following me for a while, you will know how surprised I was when I stopped for the Christmas break… I had not idea I was so worn out. Because as women, as mothers, we literally just keep going, doing what’s needed from us, doing what’s expected of us.

It is time we paused and took a little time and care of ourselves. It is time we flipped what International Women’s Day is really about. It is time we all took a day, an hour, a moment to rest. It’s time to do it on your own terms.

Instead of celebrating for just one day, why not sign up and receive special resources and content for the weeks in the lead up to International Women’s Day? Sign up with SHEEO today - https://iwd4me.sheeo.world/
