5 Signs You're Ready to Start or Evolve Your Business (Even if You’re Scared)
Sometimes we’re unsure if we’re truly ready for change. Maybe you're thinking about starting a business, or maybe you've been running one and sense it’s time to evolve.
I remember that moment when I completely lost it at my daughter over spilled milk. It was a moment of complete insanity, but it was also the kick that I knew I needed to do something different. I didn’t know what, just that I needed to change.
And the good news? You don’t have to wait until you feel 100% confident or completely ready. In fact, for me and for most of the women I work with, we start while still feeling uncertain.
Let me share five signs that you’re more ready than you think.
You keep thinking about it.
If the idea of starting or shifting your business keeps resurfacing… while you’re in the shower, out for a walk, or lying awake at night, that’s not a coincidence. It’s your inner voice trying to get your attention. Often, the thing we’re meant to pursue will keep tapping us on the shoulder until we acknowledge it.
You feel restless.
Restlessness isn’t a sign that something’s wrong; it’s often a sign that something wants to grow. If your days feel “fine” but your spirit feels flat, it may be time to reassess your path. I felt this a few years ago, and the result was a rebrand and a relaunch as The Leap To Lead. Business isn’t just about filling a gap in the market, and yes that is important! It’s also about filling a gap in your own life.
You’re seeing opportunities.
You’ve started noticing things. Someone asks for your advice, and you realise it could be a paid service. You see a problem you know how to solve. You have an idea that won’t let go. These opportunities are breadcrumbs… follow them. Whether you're new to business or already established, the ability to spot and respond to these signs is a gift.
You’re craving growth.
And not just business growth, but personal growth too. You want to feel stretched, challenged, and proud of yourself. You’re done settling for “good enough.” A business can be one of the most profound journeys of growth, pushing you to show up, speak up, and level up in every area of your life.
You’re scared, but excited.
Fear and excitement often live in the same space. That flutter in your stomach doesn’t mean stop… it might mean go. The fear of failing, of being seen, of not being good enough, it’s normal. But so is the joy that comes when you prove to yourself that you can do hard things.
Clarity doesn’t always come before action. Often, it comes because of it. So if you’re seeing yourself in these signs, take it as your permission slip. You don’t need to wait. You just need to start small, and start now.
